Today we learned how to row a gondola! This would have been a very fun activity except Noah got seasick and had to get off early. Bean, Dan and Jess proved to be very capable gondoliers! We finally visited San Marco Square. st' Mark's Basilica is the centerpiece here-it is an awe I spiting cathedral heavily encrusted with gold. Very beautiful! Also Lily and I toured the Doge's Castle and prison. Artwork galore, ancient weapons, armor and a very creepy prison!! We rode a water taxi-wooden boat. We went for a fancy meal-Dan ate squid pasta! Lily and I capped off the evening with a Vivaldi concert in another beautiful old church. It was fun to wander the streets of Venice after dark!
